The annual export prizes recognise the extraordinary achievements of Austrian companies on international markets. They have been awarded by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy since 1994. This year’s gold award in the “trade and commerce” category went to SKIDATA AG.
SKIDATA is a leading international supplier in the field of access and visitor management solutions – there is hardly a skiing area, underground garage or stadium in the world where SKIDATA’s access systems are not in use.
More than 10,000 SKIDATA systems in over 100 countries guarantee speedy, secure access for people and vehicles visiting sports venues, airports, shopping malls, trade fairs and leisure parks.
SKIDATA concentrates its efforts on key growing markets, and has been able to expand its global footprint to 26 subsidiaries and five joint ventures over the last few years.
Innovation has played a key part in this success, with about a fifth of turnover being channelled into research & development.
The company’s export ratio stands at some 90%, with the US, Australia, Italy, the UK and Switzerland amongst its top export markets.
