Touchless Ticket Dispensation by SKIDATA South Africa

During these very difficult and extraordinary times for the people, the businesses and overall economy in South Africa, we at SKIDATA South Africa have still been able to carry on as “business unusual” initially from our home offices, but later form our new premises in Rosebank as the Lockdown Levels reduced from 5 to 4, to 3 then to 1.

Due to the excellent and trusting relationships that our commercial and technical teams have with our existing and new potential customers, SKIDATA South Africa have been awarded official orders for ten New Facilities and many technical system upgrades and modernizations from Existing Customers in the Retail Sector across South Africa.

These efforts have been recognized by the CEO and Board members of SKIDATA GmbH, especially when nine of the New Facilities and all of the Upgrades were awarded during “lockdown” after the 27th March 2020 and will continue to the end of the year.

Coupled with the role out of our new technologies of “Touchless Ticket Dispensation” at the Entry Lane Column and a quest to increase cashless payment facilities with our “Scan to Pay” via Mobile Smart Phones that were launched in July 2020, plus the equipping of Automatic Payment Machines with Credit & Debit Card payment devices of Tap & Go and Chip & Pin, we believe that we have assisted the commercial property landlords to be able to generate revenue income from their parking systems with products and solutions that meet the new health & safety requirements and reduce cash management by depositing revenue directly into their bank accounts from the various cashless sources.

Parking goes touchless with SKIDATA

Our marketing efforts were recognised by the article “Parking goes touchless with SKIDATA” in the online publication Asset Magazine that was published in November 2020.

Due to the article coverage being online and also being reproduced on LinkedIn, it has reached a considerable number of people not only in South Africa, but around the world in our SKIDATA purpose where “we change the world of Welcoming People”.

On the 1st July 2020, a B-BBEE deal was concluded between SKIDATA South Africa and LeapServe Holdings, a Facilities Management Company in the Pareto Ltd Group, whereby LeapServe Holdings purchased 30% of SKIDATA South Africa, with the balance of 70% being owned by SKIDATA GmbH.

On the 22nd October 2020, SKIDATA South Africa were awarded a Level 4 B-BBEE Verification Certificate, which now allows SKIDATA South Africa to fully compete for Government, Parastatal and Commercial contracts for Access Technology Tenders and RFP’s.

Our current order book is being installed by our Technical Projects Team and the prospects and opportunities that we have already bid for make 2021 look very interesting indeed.
