Austrian News: STRABAG AUSTRIA secures majority at EGGER PowAir

Salzburg/Vienna: The construction company STRABAG Austria has secured a majority at the Salzburg industrial cleaning specialists Egger PowAir which was founded in 2014 only.

Egger PowAir was so successful with its rather old business model that STRABAG secured 75% ownership. The company was founded by Robert Egger in 2014 and relies more on environmentally friendly cleaning of machines, industrial plants and products with sensitive surfaces (computer chips, stamps, museum pieces).

The difference to conventional cleaning methods: Company founder Robert Egger has modified over the years commercial devices with the goal to clean with “cold dry air and nothing else …”. Compressed air is used as the main cleaning component. The company also cleans machines with dry ice blasting, dry ice cleaning and sand blasting.

Egger Powair Cleaning is able to take over 90 percent of all waste produced in the manufacturing industry technical cleanings simply by adding various pollution-free abrasives such as glass. Water or chemical additives are not used. Strabag emphasizes that in addition to the certified cleaning process the use of high temporal and spatial flexible cleaning team with the associated technology is the unique feature.

No purchase price information was given. Via a capital increase, Strabag will hold a 75 per cent stake in Egger PowAir. The start-up aims to increase its sales in the coming two years to 4 million euros and expand internationally with the help of Strabag. In 2016 the Egger started with 15 employees and generated a turnover of 1.2 million euros. Its prominent customers include ABB, ÖBB, Stora Enso, OMV, Siemens or shipyards.
