Austrian brand value study 2019 – Red Bull remains most valuable brand
Energy drink manufacturer Red Bull remains Austria’s most valuable brand corporation by a significant margin. The strongest growth was achieved by Signa Retail, OMV and Erste Bank Group.
The European Brand Institute evaluates the country’s most valuable brands every year. The Top 10 in the Austrian brand value study 2019 represented brand value totalling around EUR 31.1 bn.
With a brand value of EUR 13.2 bn (+0.9%), Red Bull remains unchallenged at the top of the latest ranking. In second place by a considerable margin is the Tyrolean crystal producer Swarovski , achieving a brand value of EUR 3.5 bn (-1.1%). Gaming group Novomatic whose brand is worth EUR 3.43 bn (+0.7%), came third.
Retail giant SPAR successfully claimed fourth place with a brand value of EUR 2.1 bn (+1.5%), followed by the Raiffeisen Bank Group , the Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) , the Erste Bank Group , the oil and gas company OMV , furniture retailer XXX Lutz and – for the first time in the top 10 – the leading European omnichannel provider Signa Retail with a brand value of EUR 904 m (+ 43%). Signa Retail thus achieved the strongest growth of all brands.
The Austrian brand value study is already in its 16th year. Of the 500 largest companies in Austria measured by revenue, the study examines the brands which are at least 45% Austrian-owned. Finally, over 180 Austrian brands in 16 sectors were analysed and evaluated.
